FDH Fantasy Newsletter: Volume IV, Issue XXVII

Welcome to our 140th edition of the FDH Fantasy Newsletter, as we continue to bring you weekly fantasy sports updates in addition to our usual content on FantasyDrafthelp.com. Our archive of past editions is available right here on The FantasyDrafthelp.com Blog and specific links to past editions are available at FantasyDrafthelp.com.

This week, we bring you the Ultimate Quantitative Baseline most consistent players and the players with the strongest and weakest expert consensus for fantasy football in 2011.

2011 Ultimate Quantitative Baseline Four-Category Players for Fantasy Football

NOTE: These players are the “four –category” ones in regards to our UQB for this season (our 2011 numbers debuted in last week’s newsletter). At each position, players are graded against one another proportionately in four categories and they fall either above or below the standard deviation from the mean. These are the players who graded above it in all four categories. That is not to say that they have the highest numbers in each category; as a matter of fact, Dustin Keller placed 12th in the UQB at TE, but managed to score just above the line in all four categories. But although there are such exceptions to the rule, this measure generally is successful at flagging the most consistent performers across the most important fantasy categories. These features and others are serialized from our forthcoming FANTASY FOOTBALL DRAFTOLOGY 2011 guide.

These next two features break out the areas of the most and least agreement, listing the widest variance in ranking between the different sources.

This week, we bring you the Ultimate Quantitative Baseline numbers for fantasy football in 2011.

2011 Ultimate Quantitative Baseline Rankings for Fantasy Football

NOTE: FDH’s Ultimate Quantitative Baseline fantasy football rankings serve as the ultimate measure of how players performed the previous season by measuring them against their peers proportionately in a number of categories according to the standard deviation from the mean. Using this baseline, 2011’s production can be most accurately calculated by adjusting the expectations up or down based on changing circumstances. 1600 and above represents the elite of the elite, 1550-1599 is elite, 1501-1549 is above average and 1500 is average. These numbers form a key component our draft board that will be in the forthcoming FANTASY FOOTBALL DRAFTOLOGY 2011.
