FDH Lounge Show #4: February 25, 2007

Tonight, on a "Very Special Edition" of the FDH LOUNGE on SportsTalkCleveland.com (8-11 PM EST), we bring you our "Fantasy 'I'd Hit That'" Draft of female celebrities. Our Dignitaries will vie for the title of "Best Taste in the Lounge" and "Worst Taste in the Lounge" as we select famous females to represent our sense of style. FDH LOUNGE executive producer Jason Jones has gone so far as to compile an "experts' draft board" similar to the ones we use in real fantasy sports as he has combed through numerous mens' magazines and websites to isolate the conventional wisdom about the hottest of the hot. We will conduct a standard serpentine draft.

Also tonight: Jason Whitlock broke the media blackout about the unmitigated disaster to public safety that was the 2007 NBA All-Star Game Weekend. With the game heading to New Orleans next year, how much worse can next year's event be? And will Tim Hardaway be doing the UTEP 2-Step with John Amaechi anytime soon? We'll answer the unanswerable as always, tonight at 8 PM EST on STC.

Oscars draft board and Fantasy show lineup

We have much mirth ahead for you on tonight's FANTASYDRAFTHELP.COM INSIDER on SportsTalkCleveland.com (9-11 PM EST).

9:00 PM: We conclude our fantasy hockey talk from our lead-in program NORTHCOAST HOCKEY TONIGHT by taking a look at how the NHL trade deadline may reshuffle some fantasy scenarios down the stretch.

9:10 PM: We look back at how an uneventful NBA trading deadline didn't change the fantasy hoops landscape very much at all.

9:25 PM: We preview the Oscars with our fantasy draft board (listed below).

9:40 PM: We will spend our final hour and 20 minutes focused on fantasy baseball draft/auction preparation with an eye towards draft board assembly, scoring system information, tendencies of other owners and our VIP Pyramid -- the best method of draft organization.

And now, the Oscars draft board for Sunday night's big event:

2007 FantasyDrafthelp.com Fantasy Golf Suggested League Guidelines
^ Note: The different tiers on the draft board are intended to indicate the respective value of different players not merely for the
purposes of drafting, but also for trading.
^ Given the balance of power on the PGA Tour, a league should ideally have any of the following configurations: 5 owners
drafting 7 rounds, 6 owners drafting 6 rounds or 7 owners drafting 5 rounds.
^ One potential scoring system involves strictly using Fed Ex Cup points for a default points system. We do not endorse the use
of this, nor do we endorse strictly using player earnings for a scoring system.
^ Our recommended scoring system involves a points foundation based on Top 10 finishes in tournaments. This system utilizes
the 4 major tournaments and the 9 "near major" tournaments. These are the events utilized:
^ AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am
^ WCG-Accenture Match Play Championship (NOTE: award these points as follows -- players eliminated
in the quarterfinals get 4th-place points, players eliminated in the semifinals get 3rd-place points, players
eliminated in the finals get 2nd-place points and the winner gets 1st-place points).
^ Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill
^ WGC-CA Championship at Doral
^ The Masters
^ The Players Championship
^ The Memorial
^ The US Open
^ The British Open
^ The International
^ WCG-Bridgestone Invitational
^ The PGA Championship
^ The Tour Championship
^ "Near major" tournaments count as follows: 10 points for 10th place, 16 points for 9th place, 20 points for 8th place, 26 points
for 7th place, 30 points for 6th place, 40 points for 5th place, 50 points for 4th place, 60 points for 3rd place, 76 points for 2nd place
and 90 points for 1st place
^ Major tournaments count as follows: 15 points for 10th place, 24 points for 9th place, 30 points for 8th place, 39 points for 7th place,
45 points for 6th place, 60 points for 5th place, 75 points for 4th place, 90 points for 3rd place, 114 points for 2nd place and 135 points
for 1st place.
^ This scoring system works best because it utilizes the 13 tournaments most likely to host the best of the best players not only on
the PGA Tour, but from all around the world.

A draft doubleheader!

The February 8 edition of THE FANTASYDRAFTHELP.COM INSIDER (Thursdays, 9-11 PM on SportsTalkCleveland.com) will feature two very big mock drafts for 2007: NASCAR and golf.

But, first, a special side note: our lead-in, NORTHCOAST HOCKEY TONIGHT, hosted by myself and Paul Teeple, will not air at the usual time of 7-9 PM EST. Instead, we will air from 5:30-8 PM as we broadcast a first-round game of the Baron Cup, the Cleveland city high school championship and one of the most prestigious youth hockey titles in the country.

But we begin the INSIDER in the usual manner, with some fantasy hockey talk at 9 PM. From there:

9:05 PM: 2007 NASCAR mock draft.

9:55 PM: 2007 golf mock draft.

10:30 PM: More fantasy baseball draft/auction preparation.

Super Bowl prediction

Colts 27, Bears 13, MVP Reggie Wayne

This is the first time I have picked the Colts in the postseason, so Indy loses, the jinx came from here. Sorry, Colts!

Also, if we're wrong and Peyton Manning loses a Super Bowl to Rex Grossman, how hard will that choke label slam back on him?

All around the fantasy sports landscape tonight

So, in other words, just another day at the office for THE FANTASYDRAFTHELP.COM INSIDER on SportsTalkCleveland.com (Thursdays, 9-11 PM EST):

9 PM: We conclude our fantasy hockey talk carryover from the previous FDH program NORTHCOAST HOCKEY TONIGHT.
9:05 PM: We look ahead to next week's fantasy golf mock draft on the program.
9:15 PM: We look ahead to next week's fantasy NASCAR mock draft on the program (that's right, a draft doubleheader next week -- don't worry, we will still do fantasy baseball preview material as well).
9:30 PM: We unveil our first NFL mock draft, courtesy of my partner Jason Jones.
9:50 PM: Our fantasy baseball preview continues, first with an examination of the vast disparity in the perceived value of different players by different publications and websites.
10:15 PM: We bring you our list of the most undervalued and overvalued baseball players of 2007 according to our "experts' board" compiled from different publications and websites.

Many thanks also to those of you who tuned in for our second FDH LOUNGE program on STC last Sunday, and we return with Episode #3 on Sunday night, February 11.
