FDH Lounge Show #2: January 28, 2007

The FDH LOUNGE returns live and in living color this Sunday night, January 28 on the mighty, mighty SportsTalkCleveland.com. The Dignitaries of the FDH LOUNGE will be breaking down all kinds of topics during our timeslot of 7:30 to 11:30 PM EST. This is, of course, the four-hour intermission of the pro wrestling show we absolutely love, SUNDAY NIGHT SUBMISSION. Here's what we've got on tap for you this week:

HOUR 1
Intro
Opening statements
Rebuttal to Dignitary Nathan Noy's show#1 homophobia
BREAK
Tomfoolery from The Office
Paul Belfi Wimp or Pimp (for liking Rick Springfield)

HOUR 2
BREAK
Dr. Cox Rant of the Week
State of the Union recap/presidential candidacy announcements/Dignitary straw poll for president
BREAK
Interview with Bill Roggio from BillRoggio.com about his embed reporting from Iraq

HOUR 3
BREAK
Wrestling pay-per-view halftime report
Review of "If Professional Wrestling Rewrote American History"
BREAK
FDH Comic of the Week
BREAK
FDH Spotlight Movie of the Week
Sports roundtable dealing with frontrunner fans

HOUR 4
BREAK
"Be True to Your School" forum question of the week
BREAK
Super Bowl game/media/commercials preview
Closing question in which each Dignitary names the best show on TV right now

We are excited about the entire agenda, but the interview with Bill Roggio stands out like nothing else. The premier military blogger and columnist writing today, Bill has just returned from another trip to Iraq -- this time accompanying troops on a dangerous training mission in the Anbar province. He will bring a perspective about the Iraq war the likes of which nobody can match.

And we will have a lot of fun with the "Be True to Your School" segment. In short, Dignitaries Chris Galloway, Burrell Jackson, Paul Teeple and I are all Ohio University alums. When our team tangles with Ohio State next year in football, Paul will NOT be rooting for old alma mater. His fellow Bobcats will be coming for our pound of flesh on that segment (side note: I'll be in the Horseshoe for that game, but wearing my green and white as the obnoxious "heel road fan" just like I was back in '99).

Don't be the only person at the water cooler Monday morning who missed out on all of the fun. Catch us Sunday night on STC!

Fantasy baseball talk is in high gear tonight

THE FANTASYDRAFTHELP.COM INSIDER (Thursday 9-11 PM EST on SportsTalkCleveland.com) will be very heavy on baseball as we begin the long march to Draft Day.

9 PM: We carry over our fantasy hockey talk from our previous program, NORTHCOAST HOCKEY TONIGHT. Tonight's topic: goalies to buy low and sell high.

9:15 PM: More lessons learned from the last NFL season; specifically, we'll focus on a couple of our recommendations that worked for you.

9:30 PM: Fantasy baseball strategy talk takes over the show as we spend our last hour and a half breaking down positional scarcity, highly overvalued and highly undervalued players and how to construct a Top 50/Top 100/Top Whatever list in a coherent manner.

Also, and we'll have an update on the next FDH LOUNGE lineup here over the weekend (next program is Sunday from 7:30-11:30 PM EST), but for right now: we are proud to announce that at 9 PM, we will interview Bill Roggio of THE FOURTH RAIL about his embed trip to the Anbar Province in Iraq. He's just returned from the front lines of our battle in the desert and he'll bring you his thoughts in an exclusive interview Sunday night.

Championship Sunday is here!

Here's how we think it will go today:

New Orleans 24, Chicago 16
New England 23, Indianapolis 17

Also, here's a note for the Sunday, January 28 edition of the FDH LOUNGE on SportsTalkCleveland.com: we are having on Bill Roggio from The Fourth Rail to discuss his trip to Iraq. Presently, he is embedded with the Snake Eaters who are training the Iraqi military in the still-dangerous Anbar province. We look forward to his safe return and his thoughts at this critical point of the Iraq war.

FDH Lounge launch and fantasy content

We had an outstanding debut for our new FDH LOUNGE program on SportsTalkCleveland.com last Sunday night. Since we air on Sunday nights when wrestling pay-per-views are on the air, we'll be coming back with a bang on January 28 at 7:30 PM EST.

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention this gentleman's excellent review of the program:

http://culturepopped21.blogspot.com/2007/01/gimmick-becomes-great.html

Thanks to the crew for such an otherworldly start to this venture.

Also, on January 28, we'll have the great military blogger/columnist Bill Roggio on for an exclusive scoop. Check his site for details in the coming days: http://www.billroggio.com/

As for THE FANTASYDRAFTHELP.COM INSIDER this Thursday, January 18 (9-11 PM EST), we have an eclectic assortment on the plate as always:

9:00 PM: Carryover fantasy hockey talk from our previous program, NORTHCOAST HOCKEY TONIGHT.

9:10 PM: Fantasy hoops coverage as we approach midseason.

9:35 PM: Fantasy college hoops -- we'll tell you how our team draft is progressing and how you can enjoy similar fun with your friends.

9:55 PM: NFL lessons learned as we head into this offseason.

10:30 PM: Early thoughts for the 2007 MLB fantasy season.

FDH Lounge Show #1: January 14, 2007

As we have been announcing all over the FantasyDrafthelp.com media family for the past month, we are in the process of launching a brand new program going beyond fantasy sports, going beyond sports as a whole, to a realm in which absolutely nothing will be off-topic. It's called the FDH LOUNGE and it debuts on SportsTalkCleveland.com on Sunday, January 14. It will run from 7:30 PM to 11:30 PM EST and will run on an average of an every-other-week basis. Allow me to explain.

Our good friends Ryan Ward and Kyle Ross host the awesome pro wrestling show SUNDAY NIGHT SUBMISSION on STC. Their show runs from 6-10 PM EST on nights in which the WWE or TNA do not hold a pay-per-view; on nights when a pay-per-view is on the air, they run from 6-7:30 and then hold a postgame show starting at 11:30. On nights when a wrestling pay-per-view airs, we will hold an FDH LOUNGE show sandwiching between the two SUNDAY NIGHT SUBMISSION programs. In addition to Jason Jones and myself, we have expanded the FDH staff greatly to include our "Dignitaries" for the show.

We have pieced together a mosaic of segments, comedy bits, and countless other aspects of the show with an accompanying music bed a few dozen clips deep. Rather than give away too much of the show, we will simply list the scheduled segments part of the agenda here (oh, and pay attention to the commercial breaks, especially on the video feed):

Round 2 NFL playoff predictions

On a personal note, I wasn't at all enthused for last weekend's games. Parity has fallen into mediocrity in the NFL in my opinion and the first round had a lot of "who cares" games -- purely in my opinion. Maybe I'd have picked more than 2 winners if I was more enthused! Joking -- no excuses, ever.

This weekend's action:
Baltimore 23, Indianapolis 13
New Orleans 27, Philadelphia 24
Chicago 16, Seattle 13
San Diego 31, New England 24

You really can draft anything!

And we prove that once again on this week's FANTASYDRAFTHELP.COM INSIDER on SportsTalkCleveland.com (Thursday, 9-11 PM EST).

9 PM: We carry over our fantasy hockey talk from my previous show, NORTHCOAST HOCKEY TONIGHT (7-9 PM EST).

9:05 PM: Our annual tennis draft, coming just before this year's Aussie Open. We're happy to be joined by Nina Rota from MostValuableNetwork.com.

9:45 PM: We recap the outcome of our college football team draft.

10:05 PM: Our new NASCAR contributor Mike Ptak joins us for our first look ahead at the '07 fantasy season.
